Certification

Scheduled Dates: October 21st, November 18th, December 16th, January 20th, February 17th, March 16th, April Open Month, May 18th, and June 15th, 2024

REGISTRATION Open

The certification track provides all of the training, assessments, materials, and collaboration necessary to become a Level 1 Certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors. To become a certified Biblical counselor, you will be responsible to complete and submit all necessary assignments and assessments.  Maintaining certification requires annual renewal of ABC membership.

● Class session materials
● Selected pertinent content chosen by R3STORED

Upon successful completion of all assignments and criteria, R3STORED will submit the student to ABC for certification

This training is developed for those with the desire to come alongside others in a focused soul care relationship. You will receive all of the content and classroom collaboration offered and receive a Certificate of completion from R3STORED Ministries. Our training helps prepare ministry leaders and interested followers of Jesus to biblically disciple/counsel on issues such as anxiety, depression, suffering, addictions and life circumstances.

CERTIFICATION

Scheduled Dates: September 16th, 30th; October 14th, 28th: November 11th; December 9th; January 13th, 27th; February 10th, 24th; March 9th, 23rd; April 6th, 20th; May 6th, 2024.

REGISTRATION OPEN

The ABC2 credential is granted when individuals complete the requirements of Level 2 certification. This phase of certification is highly experiential and requires a minimum number of face-¬to‐face counseling hours and oversight by an approved ABC Training Leader. Counselors-¬In-¬Training (CIT) are required to secure an approved Training Leader who can actively observe their counseling ministry with others as well as model biblical counseling ministry. R3STORED is an approved Training Ministry that will help you complete the requirements in an on-line format for teaching, case consulting, and supervision. 

OBJECTIVES:
  • Develop basic practical skills in the personal ministry of God’s word with people. These basic skills include careful listening, helping people open up, conveying compassion, grace, and mercy, and guiding constructive ministry conversations.

  • Develop more advanced skills in the personal ministry of God’s word with people. These more advanced skills include responding patiently to difficult ministry conversations, discerning counseling problems from within a biblical worldview, helping people understand and apply the gospel of Jesus Christ in daily life, and more.

  • Grow in Christian maturity as a minister of the gospel. That is, learn to be humble, repentant, and dependent upon the Holy Spirit in heart and life while ministering to others.

  • Broaden your general knowledge of Scripture as it relates to life and struggles while also broadening strategic and careful application of the Scripture to specific people and their situations.

  • Learn how to depend on the Holy Spirit during the process of change.

ABC Level 2 Requirements:

  • Reading: Biblical Counseling Basics: Roots, Beliefs, and Future
  • Exams: Counseling and Theology Exam
  • Supervision: 100 hours of counseling divided into 20 hours observing, 20 hours being observed, 60 hours of solo counseling. Process will include regular case study review, counseling journals, and assessments.
  • Continuing Education: 12 hours of reading or training in the area of biblical counseling.
  • Estimated 7+ hours a week. Time frame: 10 months of class and supervision with an additional two months to complete supervised hours (ABC permits an additional one year to complete hours from the point of registration.)
